income to be applied for charitable purpose in connections with the regiment for further details see pages 22 of brocher 1) in making donations to officers serving or having served in the duke of wellington's regiment and the widows of officers who formerly served in the duke of wellington's regiment being in need of assistance. 2) in making donations to charitable organizations whose object include the assistance of such officers and widows of officrs as aforesaid. in as far as the income is not required for these purposes it may be applied for charitable purpose in connection with the regiment. to or for the benefit of ex-members of the 33rd and 76th regiments of foot and the 1st and 2nd battalions of the duke of wellington's regiment (west riding) their wives, widows and children who are in distressed circumstances due to poverty. in so far as the income is not required for these purposes it may be applied for charitable purposes i.c.w. the regiment. a) in the assistance or benefit of any such persons serving or having at any time served in the duke of wellington's regiment of being dependents, wives, widows (whether or not re-married) or issue of persons (whether living or dead) serving or having at any time served in the duke of wellington's regiment as may for the time being be in need of charitable assistance or benefit. b) in making grants to any charity or charitable fund or charitable institution (whether the same ve a military or civil charity) existing or hereafter established which in the opinion of the managing trustees directly or in directly benefits the persons referred to in (a) above whether or not the objects of any such charity or charitable fund or charitable institution shall expressly include provisions for the benefit of such persons. to assist persons who having served in the duke of wellington's regiment west riding who are in need of charitable assistance in the following order of priority:- 1) those disabled in war.2) those resident in the area of the ancient parish of halifax.in so far as the income is not required for those purposes it may be applied for charitable purposes in connection with the regiment. (1) the relief of persons in need, hardship or distress who are either(a) persons who are serving or have served in the regiment; or(b) the children or dependants (whether or not re-married) of any such person (whether alive or dead)(2) if and is so far as the income and property of the charity cannot be applied towards the object specified in clause 4(1) above, the trustees may apply it for charitable purposes in connection with the regiment and in particular;(a) in promoting the efficiency of the regiment and maintaining its traditions and esprit de corps;(b) in making grants towards the maintenance of the regimental chapel in the cathedral church of st peter, york and in helping towards restoring the cathedral glass, the maintenance of a side chapel in the parish church of the ecclesiastical parish of st john the baptist, halifax and the maintenance of any other chapel or church which, in the opinion of the trustees, has a connection with the regiment
