for charitable purposes for the relief of distress amongst the lay staff of the royal hospital of st. bartholomew and their dependants or relations. to relieve persons who are convalescent. (for further details see clause 3 of scheme). a place and house for the sustentacion of poor people in the suburbs of the city of london provision for a bed at rustington house and balance of income to be applied for the purposes of the samaritan fund to assist necessitous persons who are or have been out-patients of the hospital the assistance of cases of special need among patients , either during their stay in hospital or for the period of convalescent on their discharge. the provisions of a prize for the top nurse of the third year and smaller prizes for nurses obtaining first class honours. to relieve in cases of financial need persons who are sick, convalescent , disabled , handicapped or infirm and are in-patients or out patients of st bartholomew's hospital. musical requirements for the nursing staff 1) to or towards the salary of the assistant hospitaller of st bartholomew's hospital2) if an in so far as income of the charity is not required for application in any year in manner aforesaid then the trustees may apply the same in or towards the cost of providing convalescent treatment for patients of st bartholomew's hospital the relief and help of domestic servants which are or have been in the service of the hospital the aid of members of the nursing staff with cost of railway fares especially when travelling on sick leave cost of surgical boots and dental treatment the benefit of the benevolent fund of the league of st bartholomew's hospital nurses for the relief of distress among past or present members of the nursing staff the endowment of a prize for anatomy the foundation of a research scholarship in medicine, surgery or their allied sciences. for such purposes of the hospital as the committee of management may think fit for further scientific development assistance to nurses-administered at the absolute discretion of matron fund to be used at the discretion of the treasurer of the voluntary hospital of st bartholomew's for the benefit of children who are in-patients ot the hospital with particular reference to the cost of travelling expenses of families needing to visit children suffering with serious diseases who otherwise might not be able to afford the fares. for the general purposes of the hospital the provision of convalescent treatment for patients who have occupied the lady denison-pender bed in the darker ward or failing that any patients who have been treated in the darker ward. if and in so far the income is not required as aforesaid the same may be applied in convalescent treatment for any patients who have been treated in st bartholomews hospital to relieve in cases of financial need persons who are sick , convalescent, disabled, handicapped or infirm and who are in-patients of out patients of the said hospital. fund to be devoted to research work in connection with diseases of the spleen the pooling and consolidation of investments of certain charities administered in connection with st. bartholomew's hospital
