purposes aforesaid the managing trustees may apply or cause to be applied the same in assisting person who have served in the king's shropshire light infantry or in the herefordshire light infantry and their dependants being in need of assistance (and especially in assisting such persons who served in the former 3rd (militia) battalion of the king's shropshire light infantry and their dependants) and may to that intent make grants to the king's shropshire light infantry regimental aid society and pay subscriptions and make donations to hospitals, homes or institutions having among
