to make grants to enable poor children and in default of poor children other poor persons to obtain convalescent treatment and change of air of which in either case they are in need after illness. charitable purposes for the advancement of work of the church in the diocese of southwark as the trustees think fit and specially for the training of candidates accepted for ordination by the bishop. to apply the same to or towards the support of a minister of st luke's church who should in the opinion of the trustees or a majority of them preach the doctrines of god's free and sovereign grace or otherwise to apply the trust towards the expenses attending divine worship at st luke's church as the trustees should in their absolute discretion think fit. furthering the objects of the church society. to provide pensions for one or more protestant gentlewomen not less than 50 years of age and who are in reduced circumstances. augmentation of the income of the vicar of st. mary, broomfield, essex. to promote evangelical principles within the church of england and in particular in the dioceses of winchester and portsmouth. to maintain the doctrine and worship of the church of england as set forth in the 39 articles of religion and the book of common prayer as reviewed and adopted in 1662 and to run schools, colleges and other institutions.
