see individual constituents to provide prizes to medical student, junior medical officers, pupil/student midwives and qualified midwives who have undertaken duties in obstetrics and/or gynaecology wards or department or the school of midwifery at guy's hospital and its associated hospitals at any time preceding the grant of an annual award or awards to assist suitable candidates in need if financial assistance to take up or continue their studies in medicine at guy's hospital for research into kidney disease the income thereof allocated for hospital purposes at guy's hospital at the discretion of the clerk to the governors to provide funds for a theatre nurse to attend the annual congress of the national association of theatre nurses for the maintenance of an infant welfare centre to be known as the salomon's centre to combine the investments and money belonging to the charities into one pooled fund (for further details of charities involved see scheme) for the relief and comfort of poor and needy convalescents but not for the general purposes of the hospital for any charitable purpose or purposes, principally (but not exclusively) at or in connection with guy's hospital, which will further the following aims:a. the investigation of rehabilitation and of the causes of rheumatism or diabetes, and the prevention, treatment, cure and defeat of rheumatism or diabetes in all their forms.b. the advancement of scientific and medical education and research in topics related to rheumatism diabetes and rehabilitation, provided that the useful results of any research must be published.c. the furtherance of any other charitable purpose for rehabilitation and the relief of persons suffering from rheumatism or diabetes for any charitable purpose or purposes principally (but not exclusively) at or in connection with guy's and st thomas' hospital, which will further the following aims: a) the investigation of the cause of cancer and the prevention, treatment, cure and defeat of cancer in all its forms; b) the advancement of scientific and medical education and research in topics related to cancer and radiotherapy provided the useful results of any research must be published; c0 the furtherance of any other charitable purposes for the relief of persons suffering from cancer. for such charitable purpose or purposes relating to the work of the st john's institute of dermatology as the trustees shall in their absolute discretion determine. for any charitable purpose or purposes relating to the nhs wholly or mainly for the training and professional development of nurses and midwives working at guy's & st thomas' hospital and other local nhs organisations for research at st thomas' hospital for such charitable purpose in connection with st thomas' hospital as the trustees think fit for any charitable purpose or purposes relating to the nhs wholly or mainly to support clinical and research activities into osteoporosis and related metabolic disorders
