"the income to be applied in assisting scientists with their travel and accomodation costs incurred in the attendance of the conferences organised by the biochemical society and known as the harden conferences, discussion groups and satelite meetings. a lecture to be given every two or three years by a lecturer who shall assess the impact of recent advances in his chosen field upon progress in biochemistry. a lecture every other year by a bioschemist of distinction from any part of the world on the subject of his chosen field of research. a lecture to be given biannually to commemorate the late r a morton. the lecturer should have made an outstanding contribution to lipid biochemistry. the provision of a memorial lecture and medal to be known as the ""keilin memorial lecture and medal"". the lecturer and subject of such lecture to be selected from the field of biochemistry and/or biology. to promote the advancement of the science of bio-chemistry by the provision of funds as the society shall from time to time think fit for educational training or academic research in biochemistry and allied bio-medical sciences within the united kingdom provided that the useful results of any such research are published and in particular for the provision of a scholarship or scholarships for such training or research tenable at any university within the united kingdom. (for further details see clause 4 of trust deed). to promote the science of biochemistry and the cellular and molecular life sciences in general"
