(a) to promote the study of the history of gardening and horticulture in all its aspects. (b) to publish a periodical devoted to this study. (c) to index the relevant historical material and its location. (d) to form and maintain a library of relevant documents, photographs and photographic slides. (e) to preserve such documents, plans, designs, drawings, catalogues, letters, papers, etc. connected with the study of garden history, which might from time to time be donated to or acquired by the society. (f) to work in conjunction with the royal horticultural society and other similar charitable bodies in great britain and elsewhere with cognate aims, in order to preserve and advise upon the restoration of historic gardens
