to give a pension of 10/-d. per week to a nurse whose health had failed after 20 years service as a queen's nurse. for grants in aid of convalescence of any queen's nurse grants to be given to any queen's nurse, or formerly elderly queen's nurse who might be in difficult circumstances which could be mitigated by financial assistance. to provide relief of charitable need by providing grants to beneficiaries (queens nurses, including all nurses registered with the nursing & midwifery council who have worked within the district nursing services of any health authority or trust for a period of not less than three years) who are in need of assistance and who have retired from nursing or permanently ceased from work on account of bodily or mental infirmity or for any other reason rendering them (in the opinion of the committee) incapable of continuing or unfit to continue their work. the fund will also relieve the charitable need, including respite care and transport. of beneficiaries in need of temporary assistance by providing grants.
