in or towards paying the salary of a male lay reader for the ecclesiastical parish of st. mary, cowes, who shall devote such time to parochial visiting as the vicar from time to time prescribes and so long as the trustees are of opinion that the appointment of a male lay reader is impracticable or undesirable then in or towards paying the stipend of an assistant curate who shall devote time as aforesaid. if the income is not required for application as aforesaid it should be applied in or towards meeting the expenses of providing parochial visiting and subject thereto in maintaining the services in the parish church.
