a) to originate and organise means for assisting in the care and after care of persons brought to the notice of the committee, by the chief physician for the time being of the battersea chest clinic, who are suffering from, or who have suffered from chest diseases and who are resident in the london borough of wandsworth (battersea area) (the patients). b) to facilitate and assist to effect all measures auxiliary to the treatment and after care of the patients, including those concerned with the needs and circumstances alike of the patients themselves their families and their households and c) to collect, raise and recieve voluntary funds and to disburse them for the benefit of such persons suffering from chest diseases, and their families, where assistance or adequate assistance is not available from official sources.
