to provide an annual book prize or prizes for students. provision of a prize to be awarded to a candidate on the results of the town planning institute's examinations held in scotland, for the purpose of defraying the cost of suitable professional books, maps or instruments. provision of a prize to be awarded on the results of the town planning institute's examination. to pay income to those candidates for election as associate members of the institute who are, in the opinion of the institute unable to pay of deposit the fees prescribed for the examination of candidates seeking to be elected as associate members of the institute and who are deserving of such assistance. a scholarship to an applicant who having passed the final examination of the trustee institute or having graduated at a school of town and country planning recognised by the trustee institute desires to undertake a post-graduate study in town and country planning. a prize to be awarded biennially and open to students of the substitute of british nationality under the age of 25 years for the best set of drawings together with an explanatory report for one or other of the following at the discretion of the council:- (a) re-development of a small market town. (b) a neighbourhood unit on the fringe of a large town for expansion. (c) re-development of shopping and general business area of a town with traffic congestion. provision of a triennial lecture (in the form of paper or extract report) on road design and layout, to be given or read beford a meeting to which the institute shall invite representives of motor manufactures, motor engineers users of motor vehicles, persons or organisers concerned with the planning design and making of roads, and the traffic authorities through their repressentative organizations or individually or to be published or circulated to interested persons or organizations through the medium of the journal of the institute and other appropriate channels. to advance the science and art of town planning in all its aspects (including local, regional and national planning) for the benefit of the public.
