"to advance the science and study of speleology for the public benefit and for this purpose to carry out or support scientific exploration and research and make public the results and findings thereof. to promote the study of caves and associated phenomena wherever they may be situated for the benefit of the public to administer the national caving library and cave heritage collection, for the benefit of the public. the objects of the fund shall be obtained by:1) supporting the good management of the national caving library (""the library"") for the benefit of the public;2) seeking to improve the library, cataloguing it, and continuously improving its availability to the public;3) seeking to acquire further material, particularly of a cave heritage nature, for the enriching of the library;4) seeing to establish a permanent building within which to house the library and provide library services;5) improving the library and library services by any other legally charitable means that are considered to be appropriate."
