(a) to promote such educational purposes as are under the law of england charitable.(b) so far only as is consistent with the object expressed in clause (a) above: (i) to run, manage or conduct for the benefit of the public at moderate fees an educational centre for english and overseas students of a university standard which will specialise in medieval and renaissance studies; (ii) to organise lectures, tutorials and seminars relating to any aspect of the study of medieval and renaissance studies; (iii) to assemble for use by the public a library of books relating to the study of medieval and renaissance periods; (iv) to give financial assistance by means of grants, scholarships or otherwise to deserving persons wishing to study at the centre for medieval and renaissance studies.
