(1) to advance education by promoting a knowledge of vegetarianism, as one expression of the principles of the religious society of friends by arranging and conducting meetings, discussions and lectures, printing and publishing pamphlets and other papers, providing information and instruction in vegetarianism. (2) to relieve poverty and to provide or assist in providing housing and any associated amenities or other assistance for elderly members of the society in necessitous circumstances.
