to advance in any way the objects of the association. to assist associated churches in the erection or liberation of debt of their chapels and buildings and in acquiring freehold sites for the erection of such buildings, by loans free of interest. for the lords poor - that is of those poor persons and others in necessitous circumstances. to grant annuities and make grants to ministers who, having been pastors of associated churches, have retired from the pastoral office, and are without adequate means of support; and also to the widows of such ministers; and grants to orphans, in receipt of full time education, of deceased pastors of associated churches. to give financial help at the discretion of the committee to pastors or churches of the association and to assist those church pastors. to promote the unity and prosperity of associated churches and to devise and employ means for the furtherance of the gospel of god in london, berkshire, buckinghamshire, essex, hampshire, hertfordshire, kent, oxfordshire, surrey, and sussex.
