to advance the education of the public in south asian studies. in furtherance of the said object but not otherwise, the organisation will:-a) provide a forum for discussion of matters of concern to librarians, archivists and scholars involved in the collection of library and archival materials needed for south asian studies;b) promote and carry out projects for the improvement of library and archival services for south asian studies, including schemes of institutional co-operation;c) publish and distribute a newsletter.
