Objects:
(a) to promote the welfae of all persons suffering form defective hearing of any degree, including deafness associated with other disabilities. (b) to work at all times in conjunction with the central body, the royal national institute for the deaf. (c) to co-operate with other organisations having the same or similar objects or aims. (d) to promote and maintain co-ordination between: (i) local authorities and welfare societies for the deaf. (ii) welfare societies and clubs for the deaf and hard-of-hearing. (iii) local authorities and special shcools for the deaf, especially regarding school-leavers. (iv) hospitals, clinics and other organisations working on behalf of the deaf. (e) to act as an advisory and consultative body and as a clearing centre for information and inquiries, to arrange conferences and meetings at regular intervals and to provide speakers for meetings and maintain an efficient publicity service in connection with work in the region.
