Objects:
(a) to research into the reasons for children being received into care and the development of alternative methods of social work practice to prevent or discourage the unnecessary reception of children into care. (b) to research into the effects on children of reception into care and methods of re-establishing the children with their families or providing permanent long-term homes for them. (c) to promote by teaching lecturing or otherwise the study and dissemination of knowledge of the behaviours of children and parents and the reasons and effects of the transfer of the care and control of the children from natural parents to alternative substitute parents including public bodies. (d) to relieve either generally or individually persons who are in need hardship and distress by the giving of advice calculated to reduce the need hardship and distress of such persons.of the charity cannot be applied in relieving such persons in the manner aforesaid the trustees shall apply the income in relieving in like manner persons resident or persons temporarily present in the ecclesiastical parish of st. michael-le-belfry who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress.
