the trust fund and the income therefrom is to be used to pay or apply the same for the relief of poverty of or for the education by the provision of financial assistance in the form of scholarships to students who have demonstrable ties with and a substantial ongoing commitment to southern africa who desire to study at the university of sussex or any other educational institution as may be approved by the trustees and who have been accepted for a recognised course of study thereat so as to enable such students to commence or continue such course of study and proceed to such degree diploma or other qualification as may be awarded by the university of sussex or other educational institution approved by the trustees as aforesaid.
