to relieve the sickness of persons living in the north west region having the illness known as manic depression (for full details see clause 2 of constitution) to relieve the sickness of persons, living in the greater london region of the manic depression fellowship, having the illness known as manic depression and in particular:- [a] to help people with manic depression their relatives and friends and others who care. [b] to establish, promote advise and support community based manic depression self help groups across greater london, enabling people with manic depression, their relatives and friends to meet for support and advice and the serving of their mutual interests. [c] to exert influence on behalf of members, on mental health professional bodies, on purchasers and providers of mental health services and other relevant agencies.[d] to establish regional manic depression information and advice facilities. [e] to prepare or commission, print, and publish or supply newspaper, bulletins, booklets and books. to support all individuals affected by bipolar disorder and associated illnesses in any way which is charitable in law.
