(i) to provide facilities for recreation or other leisure tme occpation in the interests of social welfare for the benefit of such of the inhabitants of brixton and the surrounding area within the london borough of lambeth as are in need of such facilities by reason of their social and economic circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life. (ii) to relieve poor persons resident in the area o benefit by providing them with free legal advice which they could not otherwise obtain through lack of means. (iii) to provide emergency accommodation to prevent and relieve hardship and distress among those who are homeless.
