Objects:
(1) to relive poverty, sickness, and distress in latin america, africa, asia and the middle east and such other countries in any charitable manner where needs exist as determined by the trustees from time to time; (2) to promote public education and research for the public benefit, within both the catholic community and wider society, on a range of issues, particularly on the nature, causes and effects of poverty, social inequity, human rights, environmental degradation and any christian or moral consideration of these issues; and(3) the advancement of religion in particular through promoting a greater understanding of the contribution of faith-based groups to development and international affairs, encouraging faith reflection by catholics and others on development issues and fostering tolerance and respect between different faith groups working together to tackle poverty, inequity, sickness and distress.
