Objects:
(a) the assistance of the following persons being persons in need of assistance namely: (i) police officers who are or have ben whether before or after th date hereof injured in the performance of their duties and police officers and other persons performing police duties who are or have been whether before or after the date hereof injured as a result of a criminal act or in connection with the prevention of a apprehended criminal act or in connection with the detention of a person believed to have committed a criminal act; (ii) the wives, widows, children and other dependants of any of the persons mentioned in (i) above; and (iii) the wives, widows, children and other dependants of police officers and other persons performing police duties killed in any of the circumstances mentioned in (i) above in relation to police offiecers or other such person; (b) to promote the welfare of police officers, former police officers and their wives, widows, children and other dependants in any way which the law regards as charitable; and (c) to give financial assistance to any registered charity (whether national, regioanl or local) having as an object the assistance of police officers, former police officers or their respective dependants.
