1. to preserve and protect the health of babies born prematurely or requiring admission to the special care baby unit (s.c.b.u.) at southmead hospital, bristol, avon. 2. to support and assist babies of low birth weight born throughout the counties of avon, gloucester, somerset, wiltshire, devon, cornwall, gwent. 3. to support and assist the families of all such babies. 4. to educate the general public in the management of medical and psychological problems faced by the families of all such babies.
