the object of the association shall be to provide adequate recreational facilities - playing fields - playground and other amenities of similar character for the benefit of the inhabitants of steppingley in the interests of social welfare and with the objects of improving the conditions of life of the said community and in furtherance of this object to raise funds by subscription or otherwise. a village hall for the use of the inhabitants of the parish of steppingley in the county of bedford of steppingley in the county of bedford and the neighbourhood without distinction of sex or political, religious or other opinions and in particular for use of meetings, lectures and classes and for other forms of recreation and leisure time occupation and with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
