to foster and control the game of rugby union football for the moral, mental and physical development of schoolboys and schoolgirls and in furtherance of this object but without in any way limiting it the schools union may:- a. encourage and unite endeavour in the promotion of rugby union football in schools; b. safeguard correct coaching and traditions; c. arrange trial, representative, international and other rugby matches in the interest of rugby union football for every type of school; d. generally bring to bear in every way possible the full beneficial influence of the schools union in matters appertaining to the playing of rugby union football in every type of school, whilst leaving individual schools,district unions and county schools unions to pursue their own domestic match programmes.
