"to provide a day school for boys a) the construction repair and improvement or modification of the school buildings, boarding houses and playing fields. b) such expenditure for educational purposes in connection with the school a prize to be awarded to a person in the sixth form who was the most outstanding chemistry student in the year. the advancement of education and religion of the pupils at tonbridge school and maintenance of the organ (1) the objects of the charity are: (a) the provision of items, services and facilities for the school (""the school"" means tonbridge school in the county of kent); (b) the advancement of education of the boys at the school by the provision of scholarships and prizes and such other means as the trustee shall determine; (c) the advancement of education by educational activities ancillary and incidental to the running of the school and other associated activities for the benefit of the community.(2) the trustee may apply a yearly sum of not more than 1.4 per cent of the income not applied in the previous financial year towards the maintenance of either the judd school or the skinners' company's school or of both such schools in such proportions as the trustee may from time to time decide.(3) the trustee must retain suitable land and buildings as a school to advance the education of boys in or near tonbridge, kent at which religious instruction in accordance with the doctrines of the church of england shall be given.(4) the trustee may transfer funds to st augustine's chapel charity (1013635) subject to the prior written approval of the commissioners. in the award of annual prizes at tonbridge school in such a manner and for such purposes as the governors shall, upon the recommendation of the head, from time to time decide; provided that in the award of prizes the governors shall, so far as practicable, attach the names of the original donors to the various emoluments and shall have regard to the promotion of the objects specified by the said donors. the object of the charity is to further the education of pupils entering, attending or who have attended, the school by: 1) the award of grants (which may take the form of scholarships, exhibitions or bursaries) to pupils attending the school; and2) the provision of financial assistance to former pupils undertaking a course of further or higher education; and3) the provision of financial assistance to pupils or former pupils undertaking a wholly educational expedition"
