to be awarded annually to a student of hardye's school who during his school career has displayed a commendable degree of community spirit. an annual prize to a student who, during the school year, has shown a commendable degree of achievement in the area of study related to expressive arts the endowment of an award to be made annually to any member or members of the thomas hardye school community, or its wider community , who either voluntarily or through their employment have significantly enriched the life of the school. promoting education (including social and physical training) of persons under the age of 25 years who have at any time attended as a pupil of the dorchester thomas hardye school and who are in need of financial assistance 1) assisting the governors for the time being of the school to discharge their obligations. 2) a) providing for the school such benefits of any kind not normally provided by the local education authority; and b) promoting the education (including social and physical training) of pupils and former pupils of the school who are under the age of 25 years and in need of financial assistance. promoting the education of pupils of dorchester grammar school, now known as hardye's school, by encouraging the study of english literature with particular reference to thomas hardy. (2) prizes to boys and girls who attend school and whose parents reside in the parish of dorchester(3) provide maintenance allowances for boys or girls who are resident in the parish of dorchester and who have attended a primary school in the said parish for not less than three years provision of a prize for the annual competition of pupils of the dorchester grammar school for girls, for good english writing
