benefit of persons of either sex who have not attained the age of 25 years who, or whose parents, are resident in the parish of barford st. john and st. michael and the neighbourhood thereof and who are in need of financial assistance, in the following ways:- a) apprenticing beneficiaries to some useful trade or occupation. b) provision of outfits, fees, expenses etc for beneficiaries preparing for, entering upon or engaged in any profession, trade or calling, or such other means for their advancement in life or to enable them to earn their own living. c) awarding of scholarships, grants or maintenance allowances tenable at any secondary school, college of education, university or other institution of further education (including professional and technical) approved by the trustees. d) in otherwise promoting the education (including social and physical training) of beneficiaries.
