"to provide a ""brooks exhibition"" for boys coming to radley college from elementary schools. to award the bryans prize for german and spanish. for the general purposes of the college. income to be applied towards the cost of other scholarships and of maintenance grants to pupils of radley college. the provision of a prize for singing for pupils at the college. to endow a prize for divinity at the college. to provide three prizes for music. for the purchase of special books for the school library. the grant of bursaries to enable or assist to be educated as students at radley college in b social, boys whose parents are of small or moderate means and the grant of bursaries to enable or assist persons from time to time belonging to b social to be prepared either by subsequent education at a university or theological college or otherwise for admission into holy orders in the church of england. to establish and maintain scholarships to be called the thompson scholarships to assist boys seeking to enter the college who are of particular merit but who do not necessarily attain the standard of an open scholarship. to provide a prize for classics at the school. to provide an english prize for scientists. to assist anyone in need who desired to play rackets. income used to provide geography prizes. to maintain and add to the works in the o'connor library which forms part of the wilson library (school library). a) to promote united action amongst old radleians for the advancement of education i.c.w. radley college. b) to support by donations from the funds of the society, and by obtaining subscriptions from old radleians and other friends of radley, any scheme which may be set on foot for advancing the honour or well-being of the school. the provision of a suitable scholarship or scholarships at radley college (bearing the name of montague spencer ell) preference to be given to the sons of old radleians. to be used for a junior poetry prize. to provide a prize for the best pupil in each year in the oral use of the german language under such rules as may be laid down by the governors for the award of the said prize with power to vary such rules from time to time at the discretion of the said governors if such variation be found desirable without affecting the said trust. to provide a french essay prize. to provide a prize for social history and current affairs. for the purchase of books for the science library. to provide a fund for the endowment of a scholarship in memory of the founder. to provide a prize for the best pupil in each year in either (a) the oral use of the russian language or (b) the written use of the russian language or (c) the history of russia until 1917 or (d) the history of the russian orthodox church or (e) russian literature until 1917. to be used generally for the benefit of rackets at the college and in particular to assist boys who otherwise might not be able to afford the game. 1. 1917 - TO PROVIDE THE FOLLWING SCHOLARSHIPS, EXHIBITIONS AND NOMINATIONS, NAMELY:- A) 12 ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIPS OF ú50 TENABLE AT THE COLLEGE. B) 8 LEAVING SCHOLARSHIPS OF ú50 A YEAR TENABLE AT OXFORD OR CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY OR AT THE ROYAL MILITARY ACADEMY WOOLWICH, SANDHURST, OR THE ROYAL NAVAL COLLEGE KEYHAM. C) 10 EXHIBITIONS OF ú25 EACH, OF WHICH 7 SHALL BE TENABLE AT THE COLLEGE, AND 3 SHALL BE LEAVING EXHIBITIONS 2 OF THEM TENABLE AT A UNIVERSITY AND ONE AT A NAVAL OR MILITARY COLLEGE. D) 25 NOMINATIONS OF ú10 A YEAR TENABLE AT THE COLLEGE. 2. 1943- TO BE APPLIED IN OR TOWARDS PROVIDING BURSARIES TENABLE AT THE COLLEGE OF SUCH AMOUNT AND FOR SUCH PERIODS AS THE COMMITTEE SHALL IN EACH CASE DETERMINE. the provision of a music prize. 1) to provide an exhibition for a boy who has been educated at the college and is proceeding to oxford university. 2) a scholarship for a boy at the college. to perpetuate the prize for carpentry given by sir owen wightman. the provision of an annual prize for speech making. (1) to provide an entrance scholarship tenable at radley college until the owner is eighteen or nineteen years of age and to be awarded preferably to a boy educated at mr lynham's preparatory school, oxford, if there is any boy at that school at the time who offers himself and is of high moral character and of fair ability. (2) to provide a leaving scholarship preferably to queen's college cambridge and tenable for not exceeding four years, the holder to have proved himself of high moral character and of fair ability and to have intention of taking holy orders. the provision of financial assistance by means of scholarships bursaries educational and other grants and awards or otherwise for the purpose of enabling children of school age to receive at radley the education best suited to their several needs and capabilities and such other charitable purposes(whether or not connected with the advancement of education) as the council shall from time to time in its absolute discretion determine. the provision of a prize for pupils at the school. the provision of a prize fund for pupils at the school. the provision of a prize for french for pupils at the school. for the purpose of the education of youth in general knowledge and literature and particularly and especially in the doctrines and principles of the church of england."
