the clear annual income of the foundation shall be applied by the governors, subject to such reasonable rules and regulations as they may from time to time prescribe, in all, or one or more of the following ways:- 1. in assisting deserving poor persons resident in the beneficial area to provide for the education of their children by the payment, wholly or in part, of the school fees of such children at any efficient public elementary school in the beneficial area; 2. by awarding small scholarshial area; 2. by awarding small have distinguished themselves of regular attendance school, industry and good conduct. every such sholarship shall be tenable in such a school as aforesaid, with a view to encourage the recipient to continue his or her attendance thereat for the study of some of the specific subjects of secular instruction higher than elementrary; 3. in proviion higher than elementary; 3. in providing an exhibition, not exceeding $10 in yearly value, to be tenable for any period not exceeding three years at the grammar school at crewkerne, to be freely peted for by deserving boys, being the children of such poor persons as aforeside, who shall have for three years at least attended some public elementary school in the parish of crewkerne. r.c.a. oates memorial prize fund - declaration of trust dated 3rd september 1964
