felsted school permanently a prize to be awarded by the headmaster of felsted school trustees shall apply the income for the benefit of the school in such amounts such times and such manner in all respects as they in their discretion shall from time to time think proper. to provide an entrance scholarship for pupils at felsted school. to provide a prize annually for french. to provide a prize annually for the best english essay to provide prizes in different subjects two of which being usually greek and latin to help parents with financial assistance with fees to educate or continue to educate their son at felsted school preference being given to those resident in essex. no grant for more than 2 years to provide a sports cup to be presented annually has been presented to the winner of the gordon cooke cross country race. to provide a prize annually for the best work in physics and chemistry to provide an entrance scholarship for pupils at felstead school awarding financial used his best endeavours during his period as prefect to promote the welfare of the school. prize for pupils below fifth form (excluding pupils in junior house) for the best original english essay, poem or play or similar as decided by the governess. provision of a scholarship at felsted school for entrance scholarship to a boy who by results of examination and merit and not financial need of him or his parents most likeley to gain distinctions in the classics. provision of a scholarship at felsted school tenable at oxford or cambridge university. provision of annual bursaries (from time to time) to pupils at the school subject to terms and conditions as set out by the governess. bequest applied in absolute discretion of the governors for the benefit of needy students or parents of students who for some reason outside their control may be unable to complete their or their son's normal years at the school. prize for a pupil who, on recommendation of the headmaster shows greatest proficiency in each year in the senior steeple chase or if not practical, any other sport or game. for a prize to a pupil of felsted school who during the previous year shall in the opinion of the headmaster have set the best example of service to the school prize or prizes to pupils of felsted school who on examination of headmaster for knowledge of christian doctrines. a prize to be awarded at felsted school to a pupil(s) who has shown proficiency in mathematics in each year on recommendation of the headmaster. a prize to be awarded to the most proficient pupil in geography at felsted in the study of divinity. exhibition of the form of a grant to enable the beneficiary to travel abroad after leaving school and before attending university. prize in cash to be given to the pupil who has had the greatest influence for good in the school and is also good at games. the advancement of education specifically but not exclusively by:(1) the provision and maintenance of a secondary school (“the school”) for boys and girls;(2) the provision and maintenance, if the trustee thinks fit, of nursery, pre-school, pre-preparatory and preparatory departments within the school; and(3) the conduct in connection with the school of such ancillary or incidental educational activities and other associated activities for the benefit of the community as the trustee thinks fit. the object of the charity is to further the education (including social and physical training) of pupils attending, or who have attended the school by the following:-1. the award of prizes (or suitable reward) to pupils attending the school; andleaving grants (which may be taken in the form of scholarships, exhibitions, bursaries or maintenance allowances) to pupils leaving the school and continuing their education; and2. the provision of financial assistance to assist attending and former pupils under the age of 25 years to continue their education or to pursue their chosen career. the grants may take the form of scholarships, exhibitions, bursaries or maintenance allowances.3. in awarding prizes, scholarships, exhibitions , bursaries or maintenance allowances in accordance with this scheme, the trustee may have regard to the existing trusts of any of the charities.
