Objects:
(a) to further the training of teachers and other persons intending to engage in educational work and the advancement of education in the administrative counties of bedford, cambridge, hertford, huntingdon, isle of ely, norfolk, east suffolk, west suffolk and the soke of peterborough, the divisions of the administrative county of essex known as the north east essex and mid essex divisions, defined in a scheme of divisional administration made by the essex county council payment to part iii of the first schedule of the education act 1944 on january 1945, and in the country boroughs of ipswich, norwich and great yarmouth and in such adjoining areas (if any) as may be approved for the purpose by the minister. (b) to foster closer relations among the corporate members of the institute and their co-operation in the training of teachers and in the development of educational interests in the institute area. (c) to provide a centre for the promotion of the educational interests of students and teachers and other persons professionally concerned with or interested in education in the institute area.
