Objects:
the objects for which the association is established are:- (a) to enter into and carry into effect an agreement proposed to be entered into between the redland girls? high school company, limited and james milne of the one part, and the redland high school for girls of the other part, a draft of which agreement has been subscribed for the purpose of identification by the said james milne, and by the first subscriber to this memorandum of association; (b) to conduct and maintain in such parts of the city of bristol, or within 100 miles thereof, as shall from time to time to be determined, a school or schools for the education of girls up to the age of 19 and boys up to the age of 8; and to supply to the pupils, on moderate terms, general instruction of the highest class; (c) for the above purpose to purchase, take on lease, or otherwise acquire and hold such land, with or without buildings thereon, as may from time to time be found desirable; and to erect, maintain, alter, and improve any buildings upon any land held by or belonging to the association; and to provide the same with all such furniture and things as shall be deemed necessary or expedient and to sell, mortgage or let or otherwise dispose of any of the lands or property of the association; (d) in connection with every school established, conducted, and maintained by the association to provide means for training student teachers, in the theory and practice of education; (e) to purchase or otherwise acquire upon such terms as may be deemed expedient, any school or schools for the education of girls up to the age of 19, and for the education of boys up to the age of 8, for the time being carried on in the city of bristol, or within 100 miles thereof; or to amalgamate, either wholly or partially, with any institution having similar objects to the objects of the association set out in this article 7.1; or to transfer the business and property of the association to any such institution as aforesaid, upon such terms of sale, or otherwise, as may be deemed desirable; (f) to pay out of the funds of the association the cost of any premium of any insurance or indemnity to cover the liability of the members of the council of the association which by virtue of any rule of law would otherwise attach to them in respect of any negligence, default or wrongful omission breach of duty or breach of trust of which they may be guilty in relation to the association provided that any such insurance or indemnity shall not extend to any claim arising from any act or omission which the members of council knew to be a breach of trust or breach of duty or which was committed by the members of council in reckless disregard to whether it was a breach of trust or breach of duty or not and provided also that any such insurance shall not extend to the costs of any unsuccessful defence to a criminal prosecution brought against the members of council in their capacity as members of council of the association; (g) to do all such other lawful things as are incidental or conductive to the attainment of the objects set out in this article
