the council shall keep generally under review the content and organisation of facilities for further education, consider reports and representations made by the academic board established by the council, maintain liaison between local education authorities and industrial and commercial interests in the region in all matters affecting education and training for industry and commerce, and make such recommendations and tender such advice as the council may desire to the constituent bodies, on matters relevant to the promotion of an economic and integrated system of further education within the region including:-a) suggestions regarding new developments in further education within the region;b) questions affecting the distribution of existing and proposed new courses in the region;c) the correlation of fees for similar courses and the basis of any necessary financial adjustment in respect of courses or institutions;d) the dissemination of information regarding facilities for further education. in the beneficial area, being the administrative counties of cornwall, gloucester, devon, isle of scilly and somerset, the appropriate parts of the administrative counties of dorset and wiltshire and the county boroughs of bath, bristol, exeter, gloucester and plymouth.
