1. to form and maintain for exhibition to the public a national collection of british graphics in the 20th century and principally since 1945 which is intended should be housed in the tate gallery. 2. to provide grants for educational purposes and particulary to curators and other persons concerned in any capacity with the visual arts. 3. to provide grants to legally charitable bodies to assist the publication in appropriate forms of books and other material in any way connected with the visual arts. 4. for the purpose of promoting the appreciation by the public of visual and related arts the society may publish catalogues or other works organise or facilitate lectures seminars discussions film shows audio and/or visual events and any other activities appropriate to this purpose.
