Objects:
(a) to promote by all available means the study of disease and particularly (but without any limitation to the generality of this clause) diseases of the eye and allied subjects, and generally to improve the standard of knowledge of the means of prevention, diagnosis and methods of treatment and cure of such diseases. (b) to initiate, encourage, support and carry out research and investigation into the causes of such diseases and the possibilities of prevention, alleviation or cure. (c) to provide the accommodation, equipment, professional, technical and other staff necessary for the education and practical training on a systematic basis of duly qualified medical practitioners as specialists in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the eye and to provide facilities for practitioners and students of medicine and of allied and auxiliary subjects to improve their knowledge of such diseases and the methods of prevention and treatment.
