(a) to provide financial assistance to students who might otherwise be prevented by lack of means from completing a course of study at the university, university college, or other institution at wich they are enrolled and otherwise for the relief of students who are in impoverished circumstances. (b) to provide or assist in the provision of libraries of an educational nature for the use of students. (c) to promote and encourage research into and improvement of educational methods. (d) to promote and encourage the study of and research into any art or science or other branch of learning wich is recognised as a proper subject of study at any university in england, wales or northern ireland by the provision of grants prizes bursaries or scholarships for students engaged in or intending to engage in such study or research.
