the income of the foundation shall be applied in the award to young persons of scholarship tenable either:- (a) at any school, university or other educational establishment approved for the purpose by the trustees; or (b) for the purpose of enabling the recipients to study music or other arts, to undertake travel in furtherance of their education or to receive training for any profession, trade or calling note:- in the case of candidates of equal merit, preference may be given to sons of members of the free foresters cricket club, to undergraduates of the university of oxford and, as to every fourth scholarship or less frequently if circumstances so require, to boys educated at radley college. if the income of the foundation cannot be usefully applied in accordance with the above provisions, the trustees may apply it for the advancement of the education of the public in such other ways as they may from time to time determine.
