(1) for the benefit of the public to relieve persons who are sick, convalescent, disabled, handicapped or infirm (including those suffering from the effects of drug abuse) by the application to their condition as such of the therapeutic techniques of acupuncture and bio-physical medicine. (2) for the benefit of the public to advance edcuation amongst medical practitioners and generally in the field of acupuncture and bio-physical medicine by all or any of the following means- (i) running courses of instruction, lectures and conferences for medical practitioners and others on subjects relating to the therapeutic effects of acupuncture and bio-physical medicine and awarding diplomas for proficiency or achievement in such subjects, (ii) promoting and encouraging study and research into such subjects, (iii) such other means as the society thinks fit.
