Objects:
(a) co-ordination and carrying out a public and professional campaign within the united kingdom and in co-operation with health departments within the united kingdom to increase the uptake of immunisation with the aim of eliminating childhood diseases and disabilities; and (b) co-ordinating and supporting the charitable activities of voluntary, public and professional bodies concerned with the prevention of childhood diseases and disabilities and their effects, to provide a channel for co-operation and joint action for member organisations of the council and to support separate activities for the prevention of childhood diseases and disabilities undertaken by members of the council and others; and (c) advising and assisting health authorities and health professionals in the design, preparation and implementation of immunisation strategies; and (d) developing campaigns on the prevention of childhood diseases and disabilities as deemed appropriate by the council.
