Objects:
the object of the trust is to advance education (a) by establishing a museum for the benefit of the public in premises in howden denoted to the inventions and works of sir barnes wallis and to the history of lighter than air craft. (b) by establishing as scholarship or a research or teaching post at the university of hull in engineering design or subject to the discretion of the trustees a related discipline as the university may propose such scholarship to be known as the barnes wallis scholarship and to make grants for research to the university of hull. (c) by promoting and fostering education and research into aeronautical and general engineering design, and (d) in such other ways as the trustees think fit for the benefit of the public and in particular the inhabitants of howden and the neighbourhood.
