to advance the education of children below compulsory school age by a) providing safe and satisfying group play, in which parents have the rights to take part. b) encouraging other charit able activities through which parents may help children. c) furthering the aims of the pre-school play groups association. d) to encourage and facilitate handicapped children who because of lack of adequate or suitbale pre-school facilities in their own area, to attned earlestown opportunity group. e) to intergrate handicapped and nod handicapped children through play and promote better understanding between their parents. f) to create a warm friendly atmosphere wher parents can socialize. g) to provide parents with support and understanding and practical help ie welfare rights, services abailable, and help with filling in forms. h) to foster a higher awareness of community resources by providing a resource area wher parents can obtain information on statutory and voluntary organisations, ie social services, d.h.s.s. housing, mencap, m.a.m.a., citizens advice bureau etc. i) to encourage the professionals (speech therapist, health visitor, occupational therapist, social workers, education psychologists) to see the children in play situation and tald to parents informally and to offer advice and treatment as necessary. j) to act as an intermediary between professionals and the parents.
