to relieve sickness at the manchester royal infirmary and any othe hospital or charitable institution in the manchester area in particular by providing equipment and staff to enable the cochlear inplant programme at manchester royal infirmary to commence.the charity also raises and provides funds for the salaries and expenses of five staff at the university of manchester audiological department. these include an audiological scientist, hearing therapist, speech therapist, physiologist/co-ordinator and secretary . all their work involves intensive rehabilitation of all the patients which is necessary after their cochlear implant operation. they also assist with screening prior to implantation. the charity has also recently leased a residential property adjacent to the hospital. the charity is to refurbish and run this as a home to provide accomodation for children and their parents during their visits to the hospital and university for treatment.
