to assist a boy leaving jones's grammar school (i) who requires most help in binding himself apprentice to any trade or entering into any mercantile pursuit or (ii) to assist a boy leaving the school or being a former pupil and under 24 years old, to perpare for, or enter into a profession, trade, occupation or service, by the provision of outfits, books, eqipment, or by the payment of fees for instruction, travelling, or maintenance expenses, or other means for his advancement in life.
