a voluntary school within the meaning of the education acts 1944 to 1988.income of the charity to be applied in one or more of the following ways:a)in assisting the governors for the time being of the school to discharge their obligations under the education acts 1944 to 1988 with respect to the maintenance of the school;b)in providing for the school,and any other maintained school in or substantially serving the preferred area ,such benefits of any kind not normally provided by the local education authority as may from time to time be agreed between the trustees and the governors of the school concerned after consultation with the said authority;c)in promoting the education of the pupils of the school;d)in promoting the education (including social and physical training) of persons under the age of 25 years who have attended the school and who are in need of financial assistance.
