the object of libraries and information east midlands is to advance the education of thepublic through promoting library co-operation and development. the organisation willencourage widening access to library and information resources, in particular by theinterlending of books and related materials primarily between member libraries, but alsoby co-operation with libraries in other regions and with the british library and othernational and regional bodies; to assist any action designed to improve libraryfacilities and resources by co-operation between libraries.
