(a) to acquire and take over all or such part as may lawfully be vested in the association of the buildings and property at present used for the purposes of the establishment known as the newcastle on tyne high school, with the land and appurtenances belonging thereto, and other the assets now used for the purposes of the said school subject to all existing liabilities in connection therewith. (b) to carry on and maintain on the said premises at newcastle-upon-tyne and elsewhere a school or schools for the purpose of providing a liberal practical and general education upon moderate terms for boys or girls such education to include religious instruction in the doctrine and duties of christianity as the same are taught by the church of england, but with liberty to the parent or guardian of or person liable to maintain or having the actual custody of any day scholar by notice in writing addressed to the head master/mistress of the school to withdraw such scholar from attendance at prayer or religious worship or from any lesson or series of lessons on a religious subject and to advance education via ancillary or incidental educational activities and other associated activities for the benefit of the community. (c) to promote or assist the establishment or maintenance of schools to be conducted on the same principles as those on which the schools of the association may be conducted.
