as to all or any part or parts of the income or capital of the trust as the committee of management of the metallurgical society may direct the trustees to apply the same to or for the benefit of any one of more of the following objects. 1. the provision in whole or in part of books, equipment or facilities additional to or in replacement of the books, equipment or facilities provided in the department of metallurgy; 2. the provision of for te purposes of education, travel or other scholarships awards or grants to any person who was or is a student in the department for at least one university term. 3. the relief of any necessitous person who was or is a student in the department for at least one university term also the relif of any necessitous person who is a dependant of such person; 4. the provision of facilities for activities of academic or recreational character for such persons as are mentioned in (2) above and who are still students who require such facilities to assist them in the furtherance of education.
