a yearly prize consisting of some good literary work for english or some other subject selected. see scheme of 19 june 1973 providing a scripture prize. augmenting the income of one or more of the university scholarships promoting the education of pupils about to attend,attending,or who have attended hymers college. prize to be awarded annually scholarship tenable at any college in the university of cambridge, with a preference for former pupils of hymers college who are members of st john's college, cambridge. prize for proficiency in geography prize at the school prize to be awarded to a pupil of the junior school who in the opinion of the headmaster most merits the award for character and tenacity of purpose rather than mere academic achievement prizes at the school an annual prize or prizes to be awarded for such subjects as shall be selected at the sole discretion of the headmaster for the time being see scheme of 19 june 1973 promoting the education of pupils about to attend,attending,or who have attended hymers college. to commemorate the service and sacrifice of old boys and masters of hymers college during the war years 1939-1945 prize for proficiency in any foreign language. prize to be awarded to a pupil in his last year in school for a thesis on any subject in which the boy was interested upkeep and maintenance of the memorial hall. in furtherance of the intentions of the founder of the school, the reverence john hymers, the object of the charity is to advance the education of boys and girls by the provision of a day school in or near the city of kingston upon hull 3.1 the trustee shall hold the trust fund upon trust for the advancement of education of persons who are disadvantaged by reason of their social and economic circumstances by giving financial assistance to such persons to attend the school.3.2 the trustee must use the income of the trust fund to further the objects of the charity.
